Gentle Ben and his Shimmering Hands release BRUT

Gentle Ben is back with a new crew in His Shimmering Hands, and they are very eager to share their brand new LP, the genre-defying album BRUT with you all.

The first single, Spices, is a soulful piece of heavy rock centred around a blissful bass line. The band are suburb. Everything is concise, moody, and driving. The perfect vehicle for Ben’s thought provoking and metaphor laden lyrics. Everything about Spices is tastefully presented and just makes me want to hear the rest of BRUT.

Formed from the remnants of his previous sultry rock and roll group His Sensitive Side Corbett has regrouped, after way too long, with a group that has more edge and abrasion than previous work.

Without compromises and packing a punch this is littered with Regret, Bitterness, Tragedy, and Redemption. Describing a fraught and tense exploration of broken bodies, hearts and minds Spices has a brutal focus and an edgier sound. As the band prepare to take their blistering live show and new songs to France’s celebrated Binic Festival this July, I will have the chance to delve into every aspect of BRUT. Am album I’m sure will be a highlight of 2024. I can’t wait!
